Harvard University
One of the universities that often tops many ranking lists, Harvard University is also considered one of the best institutions for business in the US. The QS World University Rankings 2021 places the university at number one in the US and the world for the subject. Furthermore, US News & World Report ranked Harvard's business school at number five in the US.
Harvard's business school is renowned for its global appeal and international outlook. In the 2020-2021 academic year, 45 percent of doctoral students on Harvard's campus are international students. In Harvard's MBA program, international students from 71 countries account for 37 percent of all enrolled students.
The university also has an extensive alumni network of more than 85,000 graduates, which provides students with a network of expertise and opportunities. You may even recognize some names among the school's alumni including former US President George W. Bush, businessman Michael Bloomberg and the former President of the United States. University of California, Berkeley (UCB)
The university has a high standing with a ranking of 7th in the US for business by US News & World Report and second place for their part-time MBA program. This ranking is shared by QS World University Rankings 2021 which finds business schools ranked in the top 20 worldwide.
The university offers a wide range of programs including in disciplines such as accounting; economics; ethics; finance; leadership; supply chain management; and international business, to name a few. UCB's entrepreneurship program is rated in the top five in the US.
Yale University
The campus was founded in 1971 at this Ivy Leauge institution. The business programs offered are ranked in the top 10 globally and 6th in the US by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021. U.S. News & World Report also places Yale in the top 10 nationally.
Students can pursue programs in various fields and specializations. These include human resources, finance, consulting and even portfolio management. One unique aspect of the university's MBA program is the use of different materials and variables for analysis, rather than traditional case studies.
The school has partnerships and exchanges with other institutions around the world, including the London School of Economics in the UK. This global footprint is also reflected in the fact that more than 40 percent of those enrolled in the MBA program are international students.
University of Chicago
Often overshadowed by Ivy League institutions and perhaps not as well known, the University of Chicago is a top-three business school in the US according to U.S. News & World Report and in the top 10 globally as per the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021.
This prestige is not surprising considering the Booth School of Business has the number one ranking of part-time MBAs, the number two ranking for finance, and the top list in the US for its executive MBA program( U.S. News & World Report). The school is also known for its research centers and active learning in specialized disciplines such as population economics and marketing.
New York University( NYU)
Located in the global city of New York, the LeonardN. Stern School of Business NYU enjoys a reputation befitting a school located close to the New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street. Students are offered programs in key disciplines such as marketing, e-commerce, accounting and technology management, to name a few.
The school is rated as a top ten destination for business students by US News & World Report and a top 30 university for the subject by Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021. Graduates of NYU's MBA program are the envy of many, 94 percent receive job offers three months after completing their degree. 37 countries are represented among the student body and if you're looking at executive MBA programs, you may need at least 10-plus years of work experience to be accepted.
